Actually- I'm not even sure if the dates are right for all of these.

Seattle Marathon 2003
The Great Floridian 1/2 Iron Man Distance 2003
Black Diamond 1/2 Ironman Distance 2004

Short-Term Running Goals: I'd like to finish the Portland Marathon at a 10 min mile pace, in October. Long-Term Running Goals: Qualify for the Boston Marathon- may take me a couple of years, at 42, not sure how much faster I can get but I will work at it.
Compete in another Iron Man Triathlon - my goal is a 13 hour finish.
Try an ultra marathon, 30k to start with.
I like endurance events!
Personal: I'm a mom to three teenage boys. I have a great, supportive husband. We live in Washington state, south east of Seattle. Two years ago I was in a cycling accident and fractured my pelvis in four places. It took me two years to feel comfortable running since the bike crash. I've really just started to run again, this spring.
I work in the health/wellness/fitness industry. I'm an assistant director at one YMCA, supervising the wellness programs at a senior community. I'm a personal trainer, spin instructor and coordinate our tri club for another YMCA. I'm great at writing awesome training plans for other people that help them meet their goals but have trouble doing the same for myself. It's hard for me to put the time into my training that I know that I need to in order to see improvement. Family, work, and volunteer obligations seem to get in the way. My excuses are the same as everyone elses- not enough time, not enough sleep. When I broke my pelvis, and couldn't train, I had to put my focus in other areas. I took on more volunteer work, more job responsibilities. Now I find I need to cut back in order to have the time that I need to concentrate on my goals.
Initially, I trained for events just to finish. I've finished a lot of events! Now I want to be good at them, not just good enough. I've competed in many triathlons. I'm a decent swimmer, a pretty good cyclist but my running is my limiting factor. It steams me up to be passed on the run by all the folks that I have stayed ahead of or passed on the swim or bike! The funny thing is, although I'm more talented at swimming and cycling, it's the running that I like the best. It's so simple, and unencumbered, all's you need is a good pair shoes and a decent sports bra.
My hopes are to qualify for the Boston Marathon and to compete in another IronMan with a time of 13 hours or less. Pretty lofty goals but anything is possible!
